Nykol Tolstych is a Chicago native and a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago. Before moving to San Diego in pursuit of year-round sunshine, she built her extensive background in business-to-business management within the real estate and finance focusing on creative problem-solving roles. She started her professional tenure in a business consulting position while completing her degree in Urban Planning and Development; from there she transitioned into the real estate and development industry using both knowledge from her education in planning and passion to learn how physical places interact with the ever-changing social environments they’re in, and vice versa. This passion carried through her work as an operations coordinator at an asset management firm overseeing 300 properties owned by FNMA. When the FNMA contract expired, she then moved on to a position a business development manager for an appraisal firm, where she worked side by side with appraisers, brokers, and lenders. During this time, she also developed the company’s marketing strategy to expand their business across 6 states. Her hands-on work within the industry was fulfilling and rewarding as she gained valuable ins and outs of the industry, but wanted to take her planning background a step further by working for a design-build firm, where she could truly see the start to end process of transforming spaces to both stand out and coexist with the surrounding built and natural environment. Here at InDev, Nykol is dedicated to not only exceeding expectations for our clients and partners, but to lead the team to unimaginable success in developing innovative ways to impact the San Diego area and beyond.
