This urban infill development located in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego will provide views of Balboa Park and the entire Mid Cities area and even the Mount Miguel, Mount Helix, Coronado Islands and parts of Mexico on a clear day. Each home in the duplex is approximately 1,450 square-feet and includes multiple view decks, two parking spaces each, private outdoor fire pit / kitchenette areas along with double height spaces encompassing two bedrooms, two and a half baths, media/office lofts, full modern kitchens and laundry rooms.

“Unconventional is the new conventional” according to InDev’s two principals, Matt Mellos and Zac Stover. Through the beginning of the 20th century, most developments and product types reflected the needs of the people of their time. “We are coming into a new day and age where a home needs to function with today’s needs in mind.” Speaking to the architecture as the new convention itself, the design of C2 Lofts represents our current time, with the façade and form looking to the future of the neighborhood it calls home.

Located on an overlooked site and working within the Mid-Cities PDO, the modern designed building’s form arose from an infill model that provides maximum efficiency of the project site to provide all the features of a single family home in a more affordable townhouse style. Based in a commercial sense this model is in effect a flex-home, allowing the home owners the ability to create their version of living as they see fit.
